To continue to provide excellent service to our participants, The Health Trust has an immediate need for a Registered Dietitian. This is a regular full-time position, reporting to the Program Director.
This position is part of a thriving, growing Diabetes Health Center (DHC) in Watsonville providing health promotion and disease prevention services, including nutritional education and Medical Nutrition Therapy, to a multicultural population. The Registered Dietitian (RD)/Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) applies the principles of medical nutrition to support patients at Pajaro Valley Community Health Trust’s DHC. The RD/CDCES will promote and maintain health, prevent or treat illness, and recommend rehabilitation through lifestyle changes, including nutrition education and dietary adjustments. The RD/CDCES works closely with the patient to develop an individual plan of care centered on behavioral changes for developing a healthy lifestyle. The RD/CDCES also works with allied healthcare and other professionals to support coordination of care.
Our ideal candidate will have both a Registered Dietitian (RD) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) licenses. We prefer candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish. Excellent written and spoken communication skills, strong attention to detail and assessment, documentation and leadership skills are required. This position requires good computer skills including Microsoft Office, Athena or other Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Our starting salary range for this position is $58,000 - $66,000 per year.
