Santa Cruz Residential Recovery is a 60-day residential program for men and women suffering from substance use and co-occurring disorders. SCRR is a rich environment purposed for whole person health and re-engagement into society. Program treatment includes 32 hours of staff facilitated groups and seminars, weekly one-on-one counseling, family counseling, and couples counseling as needed. Clients immediately move into societal re-entry through occupational counseling, life skill building, and development. Clients can also acquire full access to community resources to resolve medical, dental, psychiatric, housing, educational and legal problems.

Reporting to the Residential Manager, and working in coordination with counseling staff, the Lead Therapist will provide individual therapy and case management to Drug Medi-Cal eligible participants, and assist with stabilizing the substance use disorders and mental health of participating clients. Clinical interventions, strategies and services will be based on best practices for mental health and substance use disorders (e.g., co-occurring disorders). The Lead Therapist acts to coordinate services with other Clinicians and Team Counselors, assures appropriate levels of treatment, and provides oversight of appropriate documentation within the Drug Medi-Cal framework.

•Provides individual therapy in accordance with funder requirements, agency policies and evidence based practices.
•Provides crisis counseling, group counseling, and relapse prevention services as needed.
•Responsible for utilizing Motivational Interviewing and other Evidence-Based Treatment Practices for clients with co-occurring disorders.
•Participates in own clinical supervision (provided by Encompass for interns collecting hours).
•Organizes and completes work tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
•Follows instructions, responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions.
•Assures sound clinical practices for intake and assessments, treatment, discharge planning, and documentation for Si Se Puede clients.
•Oversees high quality clinical care and documentation of services in participants’ electronic medical health record.
•Effectively collaborates with team members, as well as community partners.

•Master’s Degree in Counseling Field and BBS- Registered MFT/MSW Associate/or Licensed.
•Bilingual Applicants preferred (not required)
•SUD Counselor Registration, through CCAPP or CADTP, will be required before start date- Can be completed during prehire process.
•Must communicate effectively and be able to use or learn current technology including electronic health records (AVATAR), in the following areas: case notes, assessments, treatment plans, case management.
•Knowledgeable in DSM-V
•Knowledgeable in clinical assessment tools (ASAM)
•Knowledgeable in Trauma Informed Care
•Experience working with co-occurring disorders and with supervision of others (1-2 years).

Wages & Benefits:
Our total compensation package includes a comprehensive medical and dental insurance plan for full time employees, 403(b) retirement plan, paid holiday, sick time, and 17 days of paid vacation, pro-rated for positions less than 40 hours a week.
