Position Overview The Tennis Club of Rio del Mar is seeking a highly organized and independent Tennis Club Manager to serve as the primary coordinator for all club operations. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Manager acts as the central point of contact for a support staff of four, Board sub-committees, and the club membership. This role requires a professional capable of managing diverse responsibilities ranging from financial administration and staff supervision to facility maintenance and member services.
Key Responsibilities
• Staff Leadership & Supervision: You will serve as the primary contact for the support staff, overseeing their training in club operating procedures and safety methods. Responsibilities include creating a Club Manager Desk Guide for daily tasks, completing performance reviews through the Club Employee Appraisal system, and managing staff scheduling to ensure on-site coverage seven days a week.
• Operations & Security: Manage the TopDog court reservation system, monitor court usage, and handle all professional club communications. You will also maintain the Incident & Injury Prevention Plan (IIPP), conduct regular safety inspections, and oversee club security, including key fob maintenance.
• Financial Administration: Provide essential payroll information to the treasurer, maintain expense schedules, and process bank deposits. You will also be responsible for processing new employee intake documents (I-9, W-2, W-4) and ensuring accurate vendor and contractor invoicing.
• Facilities & Maintenance: Coordinate the overall cleanliness of the club and provide guidance to various contractors, including janitorial, pool, landscaping, and tennis court cleaning services. You will monitor equipment wear and tear and inspect bathroom facilities for safety and supplies.
• Membership & Member Services: Act as the face of the club for current and prospective members. This includes maintaining membership and wait lists, conducting tours, managing exit surveys, and supporting club social functions as requested by the Board.
• Policy & Collaboration: Courteously remind members and staff of TCRDM rules and policies. You will also collaborate with the Club Pro regarding training clinics and attend Board or membership meetings when requested.
Knowledge and Skills Required
• Technical Proficiency: General knowledge of accounting practices and proficiency in MS Office, Constant Contact, and Google products.
• Management Style: Ability to work effectively with minimal direct guidance while leading a team and collaborating with a Board of Directors.
• Experience: Previous experience in hospitality or a customer-facing position, and organizational skills related to event coordination are highly desirable.
Pay Scale: $28/hour to $36/hour
Physical Demands and Schedule
• Hours: 32 to 40 hours per week, including some occasional weekends and evenings.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs to manage equipment. Daily duties include covering and uncovering the pool and covering tennis courts as needed.
