Temporary Pool Lifeguard (Year-Round)

The City of Santa Cruz is currently recruiting for year-round outdoor pool lifeguards for Harvey West Park.   Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply early! 

Under supervision, perform lifeguard duties including preventing accidents, responding to emergencies, enforcing rules and regulations pertaining to safety and well-being of visitors and patrons and perform other related duties as assigned. The minimum qualifications for this position are: at least 15.5 years old at time of hire and a valid Lifeguard certificate from the American Red Cross (courses may be taken upon hire). Proof of a negative Tuberculosis (TB) test is required at time of hire. Water Safety Instructor certificate issued by the American Red Cross is highly desirable.

Temporary positions are non-benefited. Be advised these temporary positions are of limited duration and are not linked to regular positions of the same name. Temporary positions are limited to a total of 999 hours in a fiscal year.
