Parking Facility Maintenance Assistant (Multiple Part-Time Vacancies)

The City of Santa Cruz is currently seeking applicants that have an interest in performing physical work, maintenance, repairs, and working independently. There are currently three part-time vacancies for Parking Facility Maintenance Assistant in the Parking division of the Public Works Department. The positions are regular part-time positions with pro-rated benefits working 20 hours per week. There may be opportunity to work additional hours when shifts are available and dependent on operational need. Under supervision, the Parking Facility Maintenance Assistant cleans and maintains City parking lots, garages and sidewalks, using hand and power tools and equipment; cleans and maintains public restrooms in parking garages; performs basic landscaping around parking lots; performs minor electrical, plumbing and equipment maintenance; identifies security concerns in parking lots and garages, such as public loitering and behavioral issues, and contacts law enforcement as appropriate; and, performs related duties as assigned. The minimum qualifications for this position are a high school diploma or tested equivalent, six (6) months of manual labor experience, and a valid California driver`s license.
