The City of Santa Cruz is seeking two Parks Field Crew Leaders, one vacancy in the Community Parks division and one vacancy in the Neighborhood Parks division of the Parks and Recreation Department. Under direction, the Parks Field Crew Leader is to lead and actively participate in the work of a crew performing assignments in the development and maintenance of city parks, recreation facilities, golf course, street medians and street and park trees; and to do related work as required. This position requires a high school diploma or tested equivalent, four years of experience in the development and maintenance of public parks and recreational facilities or similar grounds and facilities; with at least one of those years at an advanced level equivalent to the City's Senior Parks Maintenance Worker classification with experience such as landscape construction equipment and sprinkler systems; and one year supervisory or lead experience or successful completion of the City`s Employee and Leadership Development Program. A valid California Class C driver's license is also required.
