There are currently two full-time vacancies for Equipment Service Worker in the Public Works Department, one in the Fleet Division (Corp. Yard), and one at the Resource Recovery Facility. Under supervision, the Equipment Service Worker performs routine servicing, minor mechanical repairs and simple diagnosis on a variety of gasoline and diesel powered equipment, vehicles and machines, and plant equipment and buildings; including but not limited to automobiles, trucks, tractors, street sweepers, forklifts, loaders, construction equipment, baler and conveyor lines and maintenance equipment and tools, depending on assignment; performs related work as required. Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of experience performing routine servicing and maintenance of automobiles and/or construction equipment, possession of a basic set of standard and metric mechanic's tools, and a valid California Class C driver's license. A California Class A or B driver's license is required by the end of the probationary period. A DMV report is not required at the time of application, however, will be required for the selected candidate.

The Resource Recovery Facility is located at Dimeo Lane, which intersects Highway 1 about 3 miles north of City limits.
