Job Details

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to analyze financial data effectively.

Duties

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Reconciles statements and issues payment to vendors.
• Reviews and codes invoices and obtains appropriate payment approval.
• Prepares accounts payable checks.
• Posts all open items in accounts payable on a daily basis.
• Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files.
• Reconciles statements and ensures that payments are consistent with dealership schedules.
• Communicates cash requirements for payable dates to the office manager.
• Analyzes vendor accounts.
• Answers all vendor inquiries.
• Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
• Receipts all monies received and scans deposits daily.
• Prepares accounts receivable statements monthly, and follows up collections as necessary.
• Performs background checks on credit applications. Gives approvals for current charges.
• Answers accounts receivable phone calls and follows up on inquiries.
• Updates customer and vendor account information.
• Assists with special projects as necessary.
• Maintains a professional appearance and a neat work area.

Experience

• Previous experience as an accounts payable clerk is required.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
• Knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
