The City of Santa Cruz is hiring for the position of Assistant Finance Director for the Water Department.  We are seeking an effective and innovative financial leader to work under the direction of the Water Director and in partnership with the City`s Finance Director to provide leadership and management for all financial functions of the Department.  The successful Assistant Finance Director will enter at an exciting and challenging time as the Water Department is undergoing historic reinvestment in the system`s current infrastructure as well as planning for improvements which will increase the water system`s reliability and security. 

Minimum qualifications for the Assistant Finance Director are a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration, economics or a related field; four years of increasingly responsible professional advanced level financial management which includes two years in a management capacity, and which also include two years of experience in municipal finance; and four years of supervisory experience. The eligibility listed established from this recruitment may be used to other Assistant Finance Director vacancies in other departments during the lifetime of the list.
