Position: Beverage Cart Attendant

Status: Non-Exempt 

Reports to: Director, Food & Beverage and Facilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Beverage Cart Attendant position is responsible for driving the beverage cart around the golf course and selling beverages and food to patrons during their rounds of golf. This position is responsible for stocking the beverage cart every day, operating the point-of-sale system, making sure the cart is cleaned and gassed at the end of every day, and projecting a professional and friendly attitude. This position will receive general supervision and is expected to work collaboratively with other members of the staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Stock the beverage cart with all needed items - get the bank box from the F&B Director (ensure it has proper change), stock all items to necessary levels (complete inventory sheet before starting rounds), place beer and sodas on ice, order sandwiches and food from the restaurant, stock cups, napkins, straws, etc.
  • Inventory in all products at the beginning and end of the shift with the supervisor or appointed employee. Using the inventory sheet, keep accurate accounting of money and merchandise. Extend inventory sheet and count bank to $250.00.
  • Drop money in a deposit safe with your inventory sheet that has been signed by Manager on Duty before dropping money. Put the original inventory sheet in with daily deposit. 
  • Wait on guests that come to the beverage cart. Get and prepare all items for guests. Offer suggestions to guests (let them know what products you have) and upsell.
  • Project a friendly outgoing attitude to guests.
  • Work in cooperation and friendliness with co-workers and treat all co-workers in a courteous manner and with respect.
  • At the end of the day, break down the cart (place necessary items back in storage), make sure the cart is cleaned and has gas.
  • Let course marshals know if you need something (they have radios).
  • Use initiative to find tasks when not attending to guests, i.e. organizing and cleaning work areas.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be 21 years of age (in order to serve alcohol).
  • California Food Handlers certificate.
  • Responsible Beverage Services (RBS) certificate.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, vendors/suppliers, the general public and other employees of the Company.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, remain up to date on customer relationship management tactics and strategies
  • Working knowledge of Point-of-Sale systems and ten-key (calculator) machine.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers.
  • Valid drivers license.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Looking for someone to work weekdays and Sundays.
  • Shifts may vary between the hours of 9am and 6pm, depending on the time of year and how busy the course is on a given day.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This is a part-time, Non-Exempt position, with a starting salary of $16.00/hour plus tips. Some clothing will be provided, with the employee expected to source and maintain a high standard of attire at all times. Participation in the company`s 401k plan after one full year of employment, sick leave, holidays, meals, and golf benefits also included.
