In the heart of the Santa Cruz mountains, the San Lorenzo Valley boasts a strong sense of resilience and community. The Valley features unique habitats and is home to Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Castle Rock State Park, and Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. The San Lorenzo Valley Water District receives all of its water from resources within the Valley, from stream diversion and groundwater reserves that provide drinking water for our customers as well as critical habitat for plants and animals to thrive within our watershed.

ABOUT THE DISTRICT
The San Lorenzo Valley Water District is located in the coastal redwoods approximately 10 miles northeast of Santa Cruz, CA. If you live in the nearby towns of Felton or Scotts Valley, you are a relaxing 15-minute drive to work or the beach. The District maintains approximately 190 miles of pipeline and serves a population of approximately 35,000 customers. The SLV Water District was established in 1941 and serves the communities of Boulder Creek to Felton and Lompico to Scotts Valley.
DEFINITION
Under direction of the General Manager, the Environmental Programs and Special Projects Manager performs a variety of complex project and program management tasks for long-term water sustainability, strategic planning initiatives, water resource management, and other projects as designated. The Environmental Programs and Special Projects Manager provides analytical support to the General Manager; routinely gathers and analyzes information pertaining to District services, procedures, operations, budgets and/or facilities; develops solutions and implementation methods; presents progress and preliminary findings; and manages District internal and external communication.
