The Santa Cruz Police Department is seeking Temporary School Crossing Guards to escort children safely across streets and intersections for Santa Cruz City Schools. This job does not work nights or weekends, has school holidays off, and does not work during the summer, making it a great fit for students, retirees and anyone looking to make extra money. Temporary School Crossing Guards will have one primary school but will work at other schools as needed and may work a combination of two shifts per day consisting of morning and afternoon hours Monday through Friday. School Crossing Guards must be 18 years of age and have the ability to transport oneself to work sites that are not at the Police Department headquarters. Temporary positions are non-benefited and are limited to a total of 999 hours in a fiscal year.
