The City of Santa Cruz is seeking a motivated team player with a track record as a big picture, strategic thinker for the position of Transportation Manager in the Traffic Engineering Division of the Public Works Department. Under general direction, the Transportation Manager performs a variety of professional duties in planning, coordinating and directing the City's transportation functions, and supporting the traffic maintenance and parking functions; conducts studies, develops plans and recommendations, and directs projects that provide safe and efficient movement of people and goods on City streets; and plans and directs the activities of the Traffic Engineering Division. Minimum requirements are a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in transportation engineering or civil engineering; four (4) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in transportation engineering and transportation planning, including at least one year of supervisory responsibility; registration as a Civil or Traffic Engineer in the State of California; and a valid driver’s license. Experience in public administration a plus.
