Clinical Research Coordinator

Summary

Working under the direction of the Clinical Research Manager and Principal Investigator (PI), the Clinical Research Coordinator will coordinate and participate in phase I-IV clinical research studies conducted at Pacific Cancer Care.

Job responsibilities and requirements include, but are not limited to:

Clinical

  • Independently coordinates complex hematology and oncology clinical research protocols with minimal direction from the PI and/or Manager in compliance with regulatory laws and institutional guidelines.
  • Ensures implementation of research protocols after IRB approval and provides information as appropriate for progress reports.
  • Screens, enrolls, and recruits research participants.
  • Coordinates schedules and monitors research activities and subject participation.
  • Identifies, reviews, and reports adverse events, protocol deviations, and other unanticipated problems appropriately.
  • Manages, monitors, and reports research data to maintain quality and compliance.
  • Manages, monitors and collects data from patient medical records, interviews, questionnaires, diagnostic tests and other sources; code, evaluate and interpret collected data and prepare appropriate documentation.
  • Process blood samples, cultures, tissues and other specimens for laboratory analysis.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a clinical research setting or related field required.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology with an ability to extract pertinent information from records and present information, either written or verbal, in a clear, concise and effective manner.
  • Exceptional decision-making, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • ECG, phlebotomy, and processing and shipping lab specimens.
  • Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (certification through ACRP or SOCRA)
