JOB SUMMARY:

The Encompass Community Services IT Department has an opening for a full time IT Help Desk Technician. A relaxed atmosphere, dress code and generous hourly compensation relative to skill level required make this a fantastic position for someone new to Enterprise IT to gain valuable experience with corporate technologies. This is a great opportunity to learn how IT functions in a healthcare / social services environment.

Encompass Community Services is the largest community-based nonprofit in Santa Cruz County and you’ll be helping to keep 30+ locations across the County running smoothly, gaining valuable experience with technologies traditionally found in large for-profit organizations.

You will work closely with all members of the IT Team and other staff at the agency.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide level 1 helpdesk support, both onsite and remote support in the following areas

  • Windows 7 & Windows 10 Operating Systems

  • Desktop support

  • Network and local printers

  • Computer and laptop hardware

  • Mobile device software & hardware (Apple & Android OS)

  • VoIP device and profile support

  • Manage & Track Helpdesk requests (by phone, email & ticketing system)

  • Computer and laptop Operating System imaging

  • Hardware setup and deployment

  • E-waste management and proper disposal

  • Maintain IT inventory for all devices

  • Maintain and update IT documentation and standard procedures

  • Assist users with password related issues

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

· Knowledge of Windows environments, entry level computer hardware and software knowledge

· Excellent communication skills and provide excellent customer service

· Ability to travel to and from remote offices, have a valid Driver’s License, and a personal vehicle

· Excellent problem-solving skills, well organized, high ability to document steps of resolution.

· Ability to efficiently time manage work hours, service calls

· Willingness to learn and grow as an IT professional

· Excellent team member, great working attitude

Preferred:

· 2-3 years’ experience with IT Helpdesk support

· Able to handle Help Desk Dispatch periodically

· Understanding of Enterprise level networking

· Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory

· Familiarity with cloud based solutions (Office 365, Salesforce)

· Customer Service experience with diverse customer base

Technical training will be provided for several technologies at use in the agency

Wages & Benefits: Our total compensation package includes a comprehensive medical and dental insurance plan for full time employees, 403(b) retirement plan, paid holiday, sick time, and 17 days of paid vacation, pro-rated for positions less than 40 hours a week.
